Hey,

I watched a beginners video of the game and I must admit the visuals are pretty nice and think I might enjoy this game. I saw somethings that I could draw comparisons to in Stellaris to make it easier as well.

I just wondered on two things really.

1. Does this game have the replay ability (and randomness) of a game like Stellaris?
2. Are maps randomly generated or are they fixed?

And of course do you have any thoughts of this game compared to other Paradox titles? The video I watched immediately mentioned the game can be overwhelming, so I guess it is a 4X or close to?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Yes to both.

Story realms are fixed. But that's it.

After that there's a realm customisation, if it's not story realm, you can do whatever. There are additional big options:

1) Presence trait. Basically, a scripted map, where AI players are predetermined and has their stuff, but you can apply additional things yo the map generator
2) Story of giant kings. DLC, add 3 sets of story content if you want to do it (you can ignore it if you want)
3) Intrigue events, which are interesting quirks, like Khan or Chosen from Stellaris.

Just in case. There are no crisises. The game is designed to be won, while Stellaris can be played forever. So endgame is YOU.

Actually, there IS one crisis. The Toll of Seasons is a happening that can happen that summons massive armies that destroys everyone. It can be disabled by setting happenings to low or off, if you don’t wanna deal with it. (Alternatively, there’s a realm trait that can guarantee it’ll occur.)

While yes, I'd say it's on par with Grey Tempest.

But there's nothing like Praetorian scourge or Cetana.
