OK. The Frenchie has positioned one of his ships outside the Indian coast and a storm is raging for weeks. But he does not loose one single ship!! And My ships are standing in the neighbouring sea area taking a toll of 10 ships a month!! This was around 1590 with sea tech level 9 or something like that...:)

Well, my only real answer is that first if he was next to one of his own colonies, he would get -3 attrition. Second, I've had single ships survive +9 attrition for a long time. Not only that but if the ship had an explorer at its head it could survive even longer. Can't really tell you much more than that though. Being next to land and by a port really help.

"Sink you little frog!! SINK!!"

I rather liked "Merry Olde England".

It's subject was similar, but was a major discussion on the ability to transport huge quantities of troops during an age where transporting and landing on hostile shores of a small force was a major problem.

I LOVES IT! :D

Well thank you my good sir. :)

Ok, I checked the ship, there was no explorer on it, and I hung around because I had lost my port and I figured my ships wouldnt make it back to Sweden in time. :D

I read somewhere in these forums that paradox aknowledged the AI's ships don't suffer from attrition....

I guess a real french ship would actually suffer more from attrition than any other. How long do you think a frenchman can survive without a good meal?
