If idle hands are the Devil's playthings, he must have given up on you a looong time ago, major. I particularly like the German sidebar (well I would, wouldn't I) but why the Mantua Cross instead of the straight armed version?

thought you knew it already? - its the left part of the reichskriegsflagge (war ensign). cant post the right one for obvious reasons.

As always, method in your method. Now that my unnatural attraction for the German one has settled down a little, I have to say the Nat.Chi. sidebar is really really good.

well i know lazyness ...
as for the black frames, i'll add those in my next upload of "colour pics". personally i always play on the default settings where its not needed as you dont see it anyway.

well, the bullet holes are missing (which can be seen in the italian sidebar and fullscreen). but its a bit better than the chinese fullscreen (thats why i didnt present it here).

You know, when we think about Italy from a military point of view (and not only re: WW2 but in regard to the last two centuries, at least) then it's kind of easy to be rather anti-Italian...

...also, being half Italian, half Polish with German ancestors from both sides of the family helps, too

Italians are great bunch of people so no problems there! As for their politics, well, that's a whole another story

well, if you're judging from HoI games then yes, but still Messe was no idiot (and eg Lumsden or Slim in ENG and Yamashita in JAP) - maybe try Italy to become more familiar with them ? - IMO in HoI a lot of germans are overrated and a good bunch of very good leaders of all sides is simply forgotten (or wasnt available when the leaders lists were made).

For me Japan is the best one...

I was rather thinking about RL, to be honest. Sure, not all generals were bad and many soldiers fought (very) bravely - think about the Ariete in Africa, for example - but the overall performance of Italy in wars after the fall of the Roman Empire has been... questionable.

the soviet airforce soldier can look a bit depressed as he has won anyway...

That's a great idea - those semi-robots need to be swapped with original photos. Then I will use them in my games and not otherwise.

well, then go ahead. but i only use historical images (even if painted/recolourized)
