Hey there.
I have for the past 3 months ben living in a somewhat annoying world. That annoying world being, that whenever I want to start the HoI II: DD expansion, I always have to get to the Paradox folder containing the .exe.
Whenever I make a shortcut on my desktop, I get the following message:

Code:
---excel file not found
  ---
Do you still want to continue?

Then I get the three classical 'Abort' 'Try again' and 'Ignore' options. No matter which of these buttons I click on will give me the messages

"Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday has stopped working"

So, this is not a huge problem, but a slight anooyance none the less. Help whould be greatly appriciated (sp)

The shortcut on your desktop is pointing to an invalid/old installation of HOI2 DD.

The easiest thing to do is this.

1. Delete the shortcut on the desktop.
2. Navigate to the folder where the working HOI2.exe file is ... right click on the file... choose create shortcut.
3. A "shortcut file" will be created and then you can drag and drop the "shortcut icon" to your desktop.
