Slow down into force reboot - bug

Description​

So I know what's causing it, as soon as I had a law debate fail, my whole pc slows down to 5 fps and I'm unable to open task manager.
It's happened 3 times in which I stopped trying.
I'm playing as Japan in early-mid game and trying to pass professional army.
The cause of the bug was a law debate fail I'm unsure of the specific numbers involved - I know if I just cancel the law it stops happening

Moving to Tech Support. GPU throttling into system reboot suggests an issue with overheating and QA cannot assist much with hardware issues.

When you say "Slow down into force reboot " do you mean the game (or maybe the whole PC) gets slow? Then you have to reboot the whole PC? Or what is happening exactly please?

And, has this always happened since you've had the game? Or it was okay up to some point?

Any mods involved?


Right click on victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.
