I recently purchased my current computer, its less than 6 months old and have been noticing that whenever war breaks out in HOI2, the game slows down considerably, more so if I save and come back later to play the next day. I can play other games (Call of Duty, Dragon Age, The Sims 3, And Civ4) without a problem. Here are my specs:

Manufacturer:
HP-Pavilion
Processor:
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 925 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory:
8192MB RAM
Hard Drive:
987 GB
Video Card:
ATI Radeon HD 4350
Headset (Playback) (3- Creative USB Headset):
Operating System:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100226-1909)

I have HOI2 ver. 1.2 DD/Arma ver. 1.2

Please use the recent updates for these games, should be 1.3A for DD and 1.3b2 for Armageddon. You may need to run the games in WinXP compatibility mode.
Another problem may be the lack of multicore support, you may need to limit the game to use only one processor core.

Sorry, I missed phrased myself. I have Armageddon on ver. 1.2 and usually only play that, I also have tried the beta patch but there is no change.

I'll try the compatibility mode solution to see if it works, but in-case it doesn't how would I limit the game to use only one processor core?

Thanks.

When you applied the beta patch did you resume a saved game created in 1.2 or did you start a new game?

If you resumed a save game i bet that you are experiencing the Ghost fleet problem.... as applying the beta patch will not clean that up but will prevent future ghost fleets from appearing.

And can you quantify what you mean by slow. Give me an example like -- 1 day game time takes X seconds.....

I started a new game, and its about 20 to 30 seconds a day, while before war starts its it takes only about 5 seconds and no I started a whole new game.

Thanks.
