I ask because there are updated drivers for most Soundblaster cards.
Perhaps if you go to Soundblaster.com and select support, you can find you model there.

There are 2003 deivers for some and most have atleast drivers that came out in 2002.

Robert68, I belive Mithel has a point. Or even two.

Still, if you want to narrow it down further;
I think a good thing to do here now is to go back to the description of the problem. Could you say something more about these slowdowns please? It seems to me you describe different angles of the problems in the above posts of yours.
The problem with the music could be a separate problem (I am not saying it is).

There are a couple of 2003 drivers and even a 2004 driver for that card.

I search on soundblaster drivers and there are 4 rows too fill in should it bee on soundblaster internal then it must bee right?.
I did like this.On the search for driver page.
1 select your product, category: soundblaster-internal
product:SB live Value
2 select your operation system: Windows XP
3 file type: driver
4 Language Swedish
and the answear no match are found to your search?
I did upgrade me directx to the latest and the game runs a little bit better but still slow.It seams to help some to delete some of the saved games from time to time.

Mostly Harmless hi it can bee different from game to game but the game runs
very fast to 1939 somewhere there or a bit after it beginns to slowdown and then the it slowdown more and more until mayby 10-20% of the start speed,
It seams also like if i play the game for very long at the same time without turn the computer off it will slowdown more then if i play a little bit evry time but im not sur about that. Thanks for you guys trying to help me.

Well it was the NA site I looked at. And there were drivers, obviously the Eurpean site is different, and there are no drivers available there. :(
Have you defragmented your drive lately?

Have no idea really, I would think the cards are the same but I am not sure.
You could e-mail them and ask why there are newer drivers on the NA site.

I just don't see how changing the language means you have to use 3 year old drivers. :(

What unit icons do you use? (NATO symbols or animated sprites?)
Do you switch now and then during game play or do you use the same set of icons all the time?

Also, what disk drive have you installed HOI on? I noticed that it says F on the Windows disk. Not saying this is a problem, but I have noticed more than once that people having similar problems have had Windows on something else than C. Of course, this shouldn't be a problem... but...

Have you ever run HOI on the same disk drive as that with \Windows? Did you have problems then?

I run HOI on the F disk and i have 2 windows XP 1 on D and 1 on F i dont now if i use nato symbols or animated sprites.I will download the NA driver sevicepack for my soundcard and try it out i hope i can remove it if it not work mayby i should buy a new soundcard? If so can you reccomend one? thanks again for the help.

Why such a wierd set up?

Castellon, there is nothing weird about having a multi boot, even with identical OS versions. For example, the home PC's of several employees of one of our customers have this with Win2K. One is used for business, while they work at home, and one for private use.

What IS a little weird, is the reliance on Microsoft's multi boot. That doesn't do a good job of separating the OS boot partitions. A better solution would be something like BootMagic from PowerQuest. That really separates the OS's to the point that one partition hides the other, so viral infections cannot spread from one boot to the other, or applications mess around with the wrong registry files, program files folder or start menu.

I personally have 3 separate C partitions, and a logical D with OS/2 Warp 4 installed on it, all managed by BootMagic.

Actually i made a new os then i buyed a new harddrive becuse there where some trouble starting it the comp on the orginal 1 i think about removing the xp on the d disk so i only have 1 also then i start my comp on the d drive i have to many programs running in the background they are not running in the background then i use the f drive xp so its much faster but hoi is still slow i wonder if the d xp could somehow slow down the f xp and if it would help to remove it?. I know that was not a good text gramathicly but i hope you get it my english isn´t perfect.
