Road-Tools 024.jpg

Have me this picture picked out because you can see it best here.

You can see here the streetcar wire, this is not correctly guided over the tracks, this has often bothered me in CSL 1, especially on sharp curves, it was very unschon, if the pantograph of the streetcar, was next to the streetcar wire.

With the trolly bus, this is still good, but with the streetcar it is unrealistic, hope that this is still improved, or that you get an explanation, why this was done so.

Even with the trains, this is unfortunately so.

What you can also see very well in the picture, the dark spots on the road, these are the shadows of the streetcar wire, but even with lanterns and signs, it looks as if these are in the air.

The game is still under development.. I believe most picture and videos are still in beta.
Even after releasing the game it will receive a tin of updates and bug fixes.

Then I was right with my guess that it is still BETA material, hope very much that this is still improved with the streetcar wire, because it also affects the trains.

It's not a guess. The game won't be released before the end of october. Of course it's a beta. If it wasn't you could buy it right now.

Not really, devs can have a game ready and release it months later for a number of reasons like the timing of sales or iron out more bugs and tweaks.

Coming to this after nearly a month.

I'd say what we saw across all videos and screenshots is footage from all different stages of the game from Alpha to Beta to maybe some Release Candidate. This is clearly to spot out on a few things:

- Overall graphics quality and performance varies across the shots: Alpha footage looks more close to C:S1 with jaggy shadows and low performance as well as sometimes strange LUT which makes the footage looks really C:S1 to me. Other footage looks more polished which is mostly seen in the videos, still shadows look odd sometimes which is kinda Beta. RC footage mostly is seen on the dev diary screenshots as shadows look really good in comparison as well as the global lighting and LUT
- Buggy lights are Alpha footage. In some footage you see traffic lights not working at all, not featuring any emissive map. From the first video to now that seems to be "gone" so maybe that early footage was just used for the first videos. Same goes basically to the streetlights which did not work at all on the first videos/screenshots as well as headlights on some vehicles (the "Smart" style car for example).
- Traffic behavior is Beta footage. There is footage in the videos which shows abrupt change of lanes, however other footage shows a more smooth transition. This is some evidence of C:S1 ai which was about to be overhauled (maybe it was just improved at this point).
- 3D models and textures have been improved. Especially comparing the blue bus from the videos with the screenshots you can see that both texture quality and fidelity was improved. On the screenshots from the dev diaries the bus has a "CO" texture on the back while in the videos this is not the case. Some car models also showed some issues in the videos if you look closely (like a missing headlight for some reason or the car being 2D sticking to the road after an accident.
- Scaffolding animation is missing. On the latest video this is completely missing as it's not finished. So that clearly is Beta.
- DLSS ghosting. On some footage you'll notice pedestrians and cars having a ghosting effect which could be caused by an early implementation of DLSS. As this is mostly noticeable on footage which in general looks a bit off I guess that was also from an Alpha build.

As we are getting closer to release the footage likely becomes more and more what the final product is going to look like ;)
