If you really want to get colonists joining your crew might I suggest sharing your link with your friends on Facebook? I had several people that had no idea what this game was but I tickled their interest and my numbers grew

They need to sign up for a Paradox account (if they don't already have one that is) and subscribe to the newsletter. Totally worth it to be able to call oneself a Mars colonist !
