Paradox has also said they were thinking about doing a life sim. Believe whatever dev it was said that within the next year it would be worked on. Frankly I'd love to Paradox kick EA's behind again, though I'd still rather see them pumping out grand strategy. A Vicky 3 would be nice, especially one that I could wrap my head around.
give me victoria 3, victoria 2 is my favourite paradox game at the moment and it's age is starting to show IMO it really needs a sequel

When you say life sim, do you mean a simulation of evolution or a simulation of an individual person (like The Sims itself)?
From what I remember, they were basically thinking about their own version of the Sims. I seem to recall that people were comparing Sim City to Skylines and how Sims 4 is a travesty that Paradox could easily beat.
Well, Skylines is done by a different development group, Colossal Order. Paradox only publishes the game.
Very true. My memory is fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure it was one of the actual Paradox devs who made the comment about wanting to do a life sim and within the next year they would start thinking about it.
