(When the Converter actually works) How do things convert into EUIV? In particular, non-vanilla religions and cultures like Apostolic and Sahidic?

Just curious, really.

As I understand, it's a matter of ensuring that non-vanilla religions and cultures have set default nations and regnal titles. The bigger question is how does one handle massive blobs of one culture? CK2 is fairly broad with culture (accurate to it's time) but EUIV is more grainy (also accurate to how people behaved in that time). Masses of 'French' and 'German' should be broken up, but how?

There was the converter improvement project, but it died, and that was before Charlemagne added Frankish and Visigothic to the mess.

Reactions:
The converter works as much (and little) as the base one does more or less. Cultures get converted into EU4 as their own new thing, unless a matching one exists and is manually assigned by us.

Religions convert 1:1 unless they are unreformed Pagans, in which case they become animist/shamanist exactly as in the base converter.

One could, in theory, add events to launch post conversion inside EU4 itself to force ably make cultural splintering happne but I'm afraid that's well outside of the scope of my knowledge, as I generally maintain the EU4C for CK2+

Just to inquire then, what about doing something like the converter improvement project did? Would that be within the scope of what you do?

Nope as keeping something like that actually maintained would be colossal, which ironically is probably the reason why PDS is so slow to update their own.
