So I've recently began a play through as the Targaryen family in Aegon's Conquest. The conquest itself was a breeze, conquered Westeros (Minus Dorne) in roughly the same time as canon Aegon, with the minor delay of Lord Tully crowning himself as King of The Trident for a short time. But I decided instead to make my capital in Oldtown to see how different the game would be, but also I love taking away The Reach's three most powerful bannermen, the Redwynes, Tarlys, and Hightowers (Not to mention I now have three vaylrian steel sword holders as my direct vassals). The aftermath of the conquest was really great with Rhaenys produced three healthy sons and Balerion gave me two dragon eggs within a time of two years. I'm in a perfect spot, right?

Then some minor Reachman noble of such low stature I can't remember what land or house he belongs to invites me to participate in a tourney. His master of arms and I (Aegon) meet in a joust, he knocks me off my horse, and kills me... Leaving a 4 year old, lunatic child as king. My woes just begin. At first, my master of whispers (Lord Florent) becomes my regent, even though my designated regent was Lord Celtigar. He has a good opinion of me so I feel safe, mostly.

Then the issue of a coronation begins. The first High Septon refuses to do the coronation because of the -50 abomination of incest makes his already low opinion of me even lower. Okay, he's heading a faction to depose me so I order his arrest, my guys are complete morons and he eludes them and takes up the arms of rebellion. Great, I'm 4 years old and dealing with a civil war, hurrrrrrrayyyyyyyyy!!!! (sarcasm noted). Luckily the Lords Durrandon (Thanks to a marriage my regent allowed to his daughter, who became such an awesome commander at age 16, spoilers) and Gardener took up arms in my defence. However, the Gods had another plan in mind when my meager army managed to corner the High Septon in his sept right away and the rebellion ended just as quickly as it began. So rebellion squashed, I send his High Holiness to the frigid north of The Wall and a new High Septon is elected, one who equally hates me, great.... So I console kill him and third times the charm, the third High Septon has a positive opinion of me! With a little bribe money, he agrees to crown me as King of the Andals and the Fist Men!

Let us pass away a few years and my regent who has been ruling in my name so well decides that I'm incapable, the bastard. I'm not letting this play through end this quickly, and my brother (heir) does not have the stats to rule, so I quickly console remove the declared incapable trait, but realize I'm still under house arrest. At this point, I don't trust my spymaster anymore, even though he has a 100 opinion of me and has before this little incapable spat, been doing an amazing job. So I arrested him, name Lord Tully as new spymaster (20 intrigue, good opinion) and I'm beginning to feel good again, I'm only a few years away from becoming an adult, I think I'm going to make it safely. However, the moment Lord Tully became my regent, he immediately changes his ambition to "Obtain a greater crown." F**********************ck. I'm fine with a 13 intrigue high lord declaring me incapable, but a 20 intrigue lord paramount who already had a moment of being an independent king changing his ambition to become emperor tier the moment he becomes me regent is not good at all. I, however survive to age 16, become a kick-ass commander and king, with my Durrandon wife at age 16 (Only 2 months between our name days) have near 30 martial, brilliant commander, 3 combat traits, and giving me a son and daughter in a matter of less than two years, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!.

And now we move on to Iron Throne Episode 3: Revenge of The Black Dread. Ever since my beloved fathers death at the hands of Lord -INSERT NAME HERE-'s marshal, Balerion has been hanging out with the Hightowers in Hightower, that would make an amazing sitcom, Fresh Dread at Highaire. Well, countless unmemorable peoples have tried to court this magnificent beast, including my tutor, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, a High Valyrian. So far non have succeeded. That is until my tutor manages to tame him, and I'm there thinking "Hells no, Balerion is MINE in two years" so I console remove the dragon rider trait my the Lord Commander and about a month later, I get the notice a member of the Kingsguard has died. Apparently the Lord Commander was eaten my Balerion. Great, two years away from adulthood and I'm out of High Valyrian warriors to tutor me, except my dear mother Rhaenys. I then get a very interesting notice, Lady Paramount Argella of house Durrandon has also been eaten by my soon-to-be dragon, then my master of coin, then my new master of coin. By the gods, that has become a dangerous occupation. Balerion just ate two of the best stewards in the seven kingdoms. Come age 14, I face Balerion and mount him, a month before my wedding to me now dear wife, getting a daughter mere months before my brother came of age and began annoying me over the prince's claim on Dragonstone.

This has all been only 16 year since I've taken Westeros by force. Man, I really hope the rest of my heirs don't have to go through 10 years of grinding teeth hoping their regents don't seize power or call them incapable.

Why were you grinding teeth, you seem to be really content with your use of console on ordinary things like bad vassal opinion or someone different than you taming a dragon you want.

Eh, trying not to overly use the console like I normally do. If I consoled myself the dragon rider trait I wouldn't have had the option to face Balerion, but given a choice on what dragon I want (Hatchling, young, adult, monster). Well that's what I think would happen. Never gave myself the dragon rider trait when I had a tamable dragon in my court before. I mean, I could have just gave myself a few years, but that just won't be very fun at all. :p

So, this is about how the game tried to make an interesting story by throwing a few curve balls at you, and how you refused to go off the beaten and boring path and cheated instead. Meh. Sorry if I sound harsh.

I get what you're saying, I know I abuse the console too much. I never made this game with the intention to make an interesting AAR. I seriously thought I would give up this save in 50 to 100 years because nothing was happening. If it makes things better, my king I survived through a 10 year regency was assassinated at age 29 and I had to go through another regency.

Your "story" would have been soooooooo more intresting if you had skipped all that console cheating ...
But that's your way of playing and seems like you at least had a good time
