First off, kinda suprised to find a lot of people not liking this game. I'm having a blast!

Anyway, one of my commanders is about 50 years old. I remember the tutorial said that they like to retire around then. I am wondering what exactly happens when they retire? Is the fleet disbanded? Should *I* be the one to retire them?

Thanks.

I find this game great as well apart from some bugs that are stopping me from playing at the moment :(

You get a pop up saying that your commander died of old age and then a new one comes to replace your dead commander in his old fleet.

Yup, i've had both death from ....... and retirement messages. The down side to hiring a lvl 4 captain is that hes already 40ish and dies soon after.

Inside info:

When commander reaches an age of 50 there is very small chance he retires. Each year he stays in service after this the chance increases. By the time he's 60 you can be quite certain he will move to that tropical island somewhere.

P.S. Good to hear that you like the game!
