A soft skin Opel Blitz is approaching, a MG or two opens up on the soft skin transport. How likely is it that:

a) None of the soldiers onboard are KIA or WIA

b) The morale is hardly effected or not affected for the troops when they unload

c) Combat efficieny is not effected.

No, it is NOT likely, a softskin vehicly that kamikaze front assualts an enemy position would be a schweizer cheese, alot of the troopers onboard killed and the survivors would shit there f*cking pants. The survivors would spread out all around and not be a combat efficient unit. But in SD the vehicle can:

a) Blow up and everybody is KIA (happens all to seldom though)

b) The vehicle blows up/dissappers and the unit onboard can fight on with no or very little moral damage inflicted and no KIA/WIA at all.

This is not realsitic - it is just a comedy, infantry units already running at 18 km/h so we dont need the kamikaze option for soft skin infantry transports as well. It is just so irritating!

It is not a big problem for the game, but it in certain situations mighty irritating and IRL-tactical FUBAR. A unit unloading from a soft skin vehicle that are shot too schreeds should automaticlly be pin downed and the unit onboard should always take heavy losses before unloading. The option that the vehicle blows up and everybody is KIA och WIA should still be there.

Infantry unloacing in the open are punished enough alraedy because everyone shoots at them, pinning them down forcing instant retreat and a lot of damage inflicted.

Truck infantry does not need any additional handicaps when being shot at. So pls no.

A german officer who sacrificed those valuable trucks by attempting a mounted charge would be put against a wall and shot. A massive proportion of german transport was animal transport, and while the bulk of pzr grenadier transport was trucks, it was an operational asset, not a tactical one.

Play wise though, fast light transport 'assault' has been a cheesy problem throughout Wargame.
