Hello, sorry to disturb you guys but I have a problem and maybe someone here knows how to help me. Basically, yesterday EUIV started running reaaaaaally slow and I have no idea why since until the day before it ran quite smoothly and I haven't changed anything. I tried removing mods, verifying game cache, and even a clean reinstallation but nothing changed. I was playing a mod (third odissey), but I've noticed that I have the same problem also with the base game. I have all main DLCs and my pc is well above the requirements to play this game, as I've never had this kind of problem until now. Thanks in advice for your help.

The game has not changed in that period, so this must be some local issue.

Does this also affect HOI4 and CK2?

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-EU4
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign, NOT any existing save

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again.

IF that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Thanks for your replies. I've tried doing a clean re-install multiple times but nothing changed, so I'll attach you the dxdiag file. The problem is present only in EU4, HOI4 runs well (except for the Millenium Dawn mod, but that's well known to offer a slow game). What's strange is that the game had always run very smoothly, then all of a sudden it became unplayable.
The problem first showed when playing a game with the mod "Third Odyssey", so I thought that it could have a been a problem related to the mod and loaded a vanilla save that never caused me any problem and I realized that it was very slow as well.
Could it be that my modded playthrough ruined the game in its entirety?
Thanks for your help.

If so, the clean reinstall would have fixed that. Did you make 100% sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam EU4 or Documents EU4 locations, before installing again?

I see no problem in that dxdiag.
