[SOLVED] [MacOS] Black screen, but can see cursor and hear sounds

Before 3.0 update came out, the game launched and ran fine. I've been trying to play Stellaris again but can't past the black screen issue. It occurs whether I launch in fullscreen, borderless, or windowed. Windowed has the black screen until I physically move the window, but I can't find a way to get borderless or fullscreen to work (I use to play on borderless). The problem with windowed is none of the resolutions exactly fit my screen so the window is either too small or the bottom of the UI is cut off.
I've tried some of the suggestions, but most of those seemed to focus on Windows users. I'm on a 2017 MBP 15 inch running MacOS Mojave 10.14.

• I've done a clean un-install and re-install after deleting folders
• Deleting the settings file
• Launched game with no mods active

I'm attaching some of the files that have been requested in other threads, but please let me know if you need anything else.

I don't know why this is happening to you, it's not at all a known issue, on Mac or in general.

If you revert to a pre-3.0 patch does it run again?

Our similar game Crusader Kings 2 is free to play on Steam now, does it run or have the same problem?

Just reverted to 2.8.1 and all three display modes work perfectly just like they used to. Same with 3.0.2. HOWEVER reverting to 3.0.4 creates the same problem.
So seems that something between 3.0.2 and 3.0.4 causes the issue.
Don't really see how it'll help but I attached screenshots of what the window looks like before/after physically moving it.

EDIT: Just installed CK2 as well and same issue, black window for the launcher until I move it. Then when I hit play, goes to borderless and is black with cursor and sounds.

It is hard to see what could cause this to these two games on your machine. There is of course no general problem with them on Macs! Both work fine on my iMac for instance.

The big difference I see with my machine is I'm on MacOS 11.6 . Have you not updated from 10 for some particular reason or problem?

I ask because I don't really have anything else to suggest!

I'll try updating my OS later today and hope that works, thanks! Such a weird issue but I'll reply to this thread later today after I update.

Updated to MacOS 12.0.1 and it seemed to fix the issue. Weird that it was caused by the OS! Thanks again for your help!
