Some brigades won't attach in MP

Playing a game with nephew using "share countries" to teach him the game. Playing Germany 1936. Noticed that German infantry in Stalingrad lost its Stug-III. Stug-III appears in redeployment pool in Stalingrad. I think, "great." However, when I try to reattatch the brigade to the division in Stalingrad it won't let either me or nephew do it. But I can reattatch it to a division in Germany.

A few weeks later I create some SP-Art. I try to attatch to Infantry Divisions located in German territory. It will attatch to some but not all divisions clearly in German national provinces. Same with some Police I create for Garrisons. Not sure if the division or the brigade is bugged, or even if that should be considered. Restart did not solve problem. Thanks for reviewing.

You have to deploy the brigade in your national territory. Then you can de-attach it (putting it in the redeployment pool) and later when it becomes ready attach it to any unit you wish, as long as it has land connection to the area you deployed it. Why you lost the brigade I don't know, but I have had it myself in singleplayer and you must just follow the procedure as if it was a new brigade.

The Stalingrad brigade was at least retrievable. The new brigades that I created all were automatically assigned to Berlin. And I could not attatch some of them to divisions that were in my National Territory. So it's some kind of bug.

I've had similar trouble myself so you are not alone. Never did get to the bottom of it though, alas...

was the unit on offensive supply? if they are you cannot add brigades to them.
