I know the game still has a lot a problem, so mb its too early think about game improvements, but i still want propound a some change in trade system.
Current trade system is boring. There are a lot of micromanagement, but no fun or tactic. So it possible to do a little change based on current trade system to make it some better.
What need to do. We need to launch our freighters to "trade mission", automatically of course. Every turn each freighter located in its home trade system automatically start "Trade Mission" to system it want to trade. During this mission he fly to target system and coming back. After mission complete - u get a trade income. Of couse if more than 1 freighters fly from same system to same system - they form a fleet. Thats all.
There are a little new programing needed, we already has freighters located in home system, we has goods, we has target trade star system, we have docks. So we need to do only start trade mission instead direct trade income.
In this case, we need a some changes in features of current objects, of couse, for balance. We need to reduce the number of docks in civilian station, bcouze now we need docks not every turn, but only when we start a trade mission. For example, 1lvl trade station can have 1 dock, 2lvl - 2 docks.. And we CAN (but i not sure about balance) increase the amount of goods transported by freighters to 3 (small freighter) or 5 (large freighter).
And we need a map filter "SHOW/NOTSHOW TRADE FLEETS" and we need a system state named "CAN/CANT RECEIVE A TRADE MISSION" such as "OPEN/CLOSE" for manual blocking trade mission in dangerous system.
And yes. Pirate can attack trade fleet in space or every system during their travel. Same as enemies fleets...
What we get. We get a living economy with flying civilian vessels, with suffer during the war. We have real trade routes. And i believe there a need not so much changes and programming... but i can mistake of couse...
