  • A Game of Dwarves
G'day all,

Good game. Nice idea. Kinda reminds me of minecraft but far quicker and frankly, far more fun.

Overall I am pretty happy with the game but every single time I play the following always comes to mind:

1. Need a "sell all" and "max buy" buttons. If this was added I would be very, very happy. :D

2. Bigger monsters. I would like to see more. Also, further down you go, harder it should get. Raagh!!

3. Digging for minerals seems like a waist of time. I can buy anything I want and as much as I want mid game. Even early game I can get what I need for progression easy enough. I would like to see the various mineral tiles give more resources. Right now, Ill build rooms for fun and gladly ignore the more expensive minerals. Maybe this is on purpose? Right now I find resource tiles less then worthless.

4. Monsters will teleport through walls. In other words, to area's that are close by but not within line of site. Is this on purpose? I just ask as i find it difficult to use traps when they just 'pop' through the wall and into the next room.

5. Inactive dwarfs should move back to a room with a table or bed. Standing around to get eaten seems a little silly. If they get attacked they should run back to base. Maybe the King can be a waypoint for dwarfs doing nothing?

6. More wall\floor textures. End game ill have countless rooms and although I don't mind using the same textures, more choice is always nice.

7. Building walls seems too expensive.

8. A warning when food is running out. Not when it HAS run out. Poor dwarfs :)

9. Explosives to clear large area's underground. BOOM!!

10. Better control of your army. They seem very, very slow to do what you want them to do. Sometimes I just want them to guard a room. Sometimes I want them to patrol. Sometimes I want them to go out and kill some monster thats roaming about and they won't. Maybe have an aggressive status for each warrior? Guard (Stays within 10 blocks), Patrol (walks around within 30 blocks) and Aggressive (will head towards nearest spotted enemy).

As it is, I'm not keen on how the military flags work but its ok. Not a big deal.

Keep up the good work,

CHEERS!! :p

I'm curious, are you basing this on pre-1.02 patch impressions? x3

Welcome to the forum, happy to have you here!. :) Please don't forget to register your game by clicking on "My Games" at the top! (The CD key is in your Steam library, right side.) This awards you a nifty icon and access to a couple AGoD sub-forums.

And like Tani, I'm also curious about whether you still have a lot of surplus gold by the mid game in the latest patch. I got to play a bit more tonight and in my custom game I definitely do run out of money now (still plenty of extra food, though -- but I just realized that the pumpkin decorations are paid for with food!). It's a medium resources game, though, so it may be different with rich resources.

ShadowTani - Not sure on patch version. I play daily for a little and getting resources has always been easy. Even on day 1 of playing. I didn't add too much detail as I don't want to add spoilers on getting rich super easy :)

Workers are your friends. :D

In addition to a sell all / buy all buttons I'd really like to see maybe the Ctrl + Click be used to buy / sell in batches of 1000 It doesn't take hardly any time at all to accumulate 10k or more of wood, stone etc. I'm really not one for using a sell all or a buy all since I would never use a buy all and use all of my gold and chance that some of the food plants or wood plants happen to hit at the same time that they need to be replanted and not be able to because I spent all of my gold to buy one item in Hemfort. But I could see the sell all being useful for those times that I have no plans for the tourmaline, or higher resources in my settlement and just want to quick dump them I suppose.

Hello OoieGooie!

Did you know that you can shift+click the buy/sell tabs in the hemfort menu in order to buy/sell larger quantities?

Monsters teleporting is intended. I believe there's some difficulties with the pathfinding. I'm unsure how or if this will be resolved.

Thank you for your feedback! I have forwarded it to the developers.
I can't promise any changes but we at Paradox is always interested in what our players have to say!
