1. What techs I need research to get Mechanized Infantry?

2. What happens when partisans take over all of you victory points, a new government occurs?

3. The only way to decrease belligerence is waiting? (or events)

4. Do you reccomend annex nation or demand puppet?

5. If I put "Auto-Promote Leaders", they will promote only at the real-time of his promotion and they will not lose a skill and exp?

Thanks, guys

Hi,

1. MEC are activated by ARM/LARM research from 1941 onwards.

2. No idea.

3. No. Releasing nations also reduces Belligerence.

4. Depends on what you want. I've never actually tried to Demand Puppet.

5. AFAIK this is generally correct. However you need enough divisions to generate promotion slots so it is possible that promotions will ocuur later/never depending on divisions in pla.

I don't find CORE significantly different from vanilla in this regard. In most cases I find puppeting the superior option. Your puppet will build units that you can use via military control, it will share techs with you, it will prevent your TP from being loaded up with new territory requirements, and it will pass excess resources to you at no cost. I think that's a better deal than you get out of outright annexation.

5. If I put "Auto-Promote Leaders", they will promote only at the real-time of his promotion and they will not lose a skill and exp?

As dec points out, leader numbers are tied to unit numbers. I believe that if you expand your forces beyond the required trigger points quickly enough, leaders can be promoted before their historical dates.

I find puppeting handy sometimes - puppeting say Albania is essentially pointless, as with their 2?IC they'll produce maybe one or two RES over the course of the game, and will lag behind dramatically in tech. OTOH somewhere like Romania makes a good puppet, as they have a good amount of IC and can keep up with tech to an extent. Overall, though, I prefer to annex.

On promoting leaders, I find that soaking up spare IC and MP with GAR means that you can get your good leaders promoted pretty quickly.

On the promotion issue. why would you use auto-promotion in the first place? I dont see the advantages of this over promoting yourself. When promoting yourself you can actually chose the best generals with the most usefull skills.
I feel that unless you want to play as historical acurate as possible there is no use for auto-promotion. And from the comments here about trying to get promotion ahead of time by upping the unitcount you kinda lose this historical reason anyway.
Or am i missing something, are there optional advantages to auto-promotion that i am not aware off??

With auto promotion the leader is advanced one level of rank without losing any skill, but if you manually promote the leader he loses 1 skill level as he advances one level of rank.
