Ok, a little background.
Started the grand campaign as Germany in ARMA1.2. I selected for democracies to be able to declare war (figured it to be more interesting) :)
Till spring '39 everything went as normal except that Italy and Romania joined the Axis after Chechoslavakia was divided.
In April '39 France declared war on us when i was busy moving troops to Poland. Bit earlier then planned but it went great, Poland was annexed( all of it went to the Axis since Russia was never involved), some provinces went to my Balkan friends. Italy drove the british backin Egypt.
After moving my troops to the west i decided to attack france form the lightly defended french-italian border. i conquered whole of france when i noticed the following, except from 3 provinces next to germany all the provinces of france came under Italian control even if they didnt send a single soldier in and i did all the fighting. Furthermore the Vichy-france event never occured, france didnt sue for peace and refuses to accept being a puppet state. I dont want to sue for peace and give all the provinces to Italy who didnt do a thing except eating canelonni:wacko:
why do all the porvinces i conquered come under Italian controll?? and how can i change or prevent it?? Is it a bug?

If this is what I think it is, then it's because you're allied to italy, so any province you gain by moving through THEY'RE province, goes to them.

Surprised you didn't notice it earlier. o.o

hmm, ok that explains it then. thanks for the fast reply
Only my first game so i guess it was a noob question. Wanted not to go through belgium to get to france but....
any idea why france didnt sue for peace after i conquered the mainland??

You didn't conquer enough. Once you have most of the northern France under your control an event for creation of Vichy France should fire and give you options for creating it or going for a total conquest.

Just a hint for the future: Use political mapmode, i.e. the one which colours all provinces in the color of the nation who controls it. You would have seen France turning green instead of grey at day one and could have limited damage... ;)
