Make sure you clear the cache, etc, that's usually the culprit. The Podcast exe, if you're using the base game, might also help. Check the error log to see if there's anything else that it lists.
And how do i do that and i think that in hoi3 the cache cant be deleted so lol

A) polite forum etiquette is to edit the post, rather than triple posting, but I digress.
B) the log should be in the same overall folder (under the My Documents/Paradox/HoI folders) and should be called 'log'. In that, there should be a file called "error" or something. Open using Notepad++ (it is usually easier to read that way). I've never heard of 'squad 79'.

It's QUAD 79, not squad and it is related to creating the map.
That's the path to the map cache, delete all files there and try running HoI3 again.

FYI Starting with Black Ice 11.3.2, has a
Customizable IC allocation slider AI in the utility
- customize the order (priority) in which your IC will be allocated
- customize the amount to allocate, either as percentage or as an IC value
- set an upper limit upgrades & reinforcement allocation
- set a goal supply amount
- activate automatic dissent reduction
Hello I recently tried HOI3 Blackice again. After a lot of trial-and-error I found out for myself that I should play with version 11.1 and submods TRE, GGA, UTR, TDW. This is mainly due to the fact that these submods are compatible with 11.1.
(I wouldn't mind playing 11.3.5 either if I could find links to compatible submods for that version)
I use a notebook i7, Geforce 1050 and windows 11 upgrade
The game is installed in Steam, but I created an extra folder for the mods
My question: Since I also had crashes in my test game, I found out about possible causes and measures to fix or at least minimize crashes.
Recommended are e.g.
Podcat's latest exe...
4GB patch
2Dsafe.ExePatcher
Which one should I use, or if you install them all, do they interfere with each other?

But where does the 4GB patch go to, or the 2Dsafe.ExePatcher.
Incidentally, it's quite a sensation that I got the game running with the mod and the submods, because otherwise I have little understanding of technical things. Therefore it would be nice if someone wants to help me to write the advice or explanations for the most clueless user to be assumed.
Anyone who wants to answer in German would also be very welcome.

My German is not so good so i’ll stick to English (which is only slightly better)
You should be posting in the Black Ice subforum for such questions. You will find more help for your problems there, i’m sure.
I’ll try my best:
Podcat’s exe, 4gb patch and Dsafe patcher are actually all the same thing. You should apply the one that has you preference but one only.
As I read you use the Steam version of the game files, you should also « move the game out of the steam folder », meaning copying the base game folder to a place of your liking on your drive, so Steam can’t mess with the modifications you made (patching the game with any of the 4gb fix, for example), and launch the game from there.

EDIT: seems I’ve been mistaken as Dsafe patcher includes more modifications than just LAA patch. For those interested, you definetely want to get those improvements, even for vanilla…
