Something that always felt awkward to me in Crusader Kings II was when I got a message about a place or person and couldn't offhand remember where to find it or who that person was. At those times, I really wished for a hyperlink feature on the messages.

Will Stellaris have something like this? So if an event or message refers to a star system, a planet, a character etc. their name would work as a hyperlink to that entity? That would be really helpful to players and shouldn't be too tough to code in.

With CK2, you clicked the character's portrait, it'd open that character's character sheet which would have their location, titles, relatives etc. I'm guessing it'll be pretty much the same in Stellaris (except a planet would probably be clickable in the message).

This true, however there are events involving more than one character within the same choice and at those times only one portrait is given (not always but from what ive seen its the norm) so some improvement could be made regarding that still.

There will be far fewer characters in Stellaris as compared to CKII. The Devs have stated that the POPs are to take center stage. I suspect that more time will be needed in managing POPs than individual characters.

Yeah, this. Sorry, it's been a while since I played CK2 but I did remember often coming up against events that referred to a character that I couldn't easily find.

But basically, I think it wouldn't hurt to make every entity referred to in messages a hyperlink. A planet? Click on its name and the game will take you to it. A star system? Click and you're there. A character? Click and you're looking at them. And so on.
