Sooo... I activated all the DLC codes I had on GamersGate on Steam, but when I start CK2, I can't get to the earlier start dates than 1066. If I do start a game in 1066. it says "Welcome to the Old Gods".

Sooo... what am I missing?

EDIT: I'm on Linux, by the way.

Sorry for asking such an obvious question, but did you enable the Old Gods in the launcher or whatever equivalent you have in Linux?

Try to delete your user directory, it should be "~/.paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II"
Move away your saves first if you want to keep them.

It should be enabled by default, you need to take extra steps to disable it.

Did you start the game through Steam ? You have to start it at least once through Steam.

Don't know if this helps, but a quick search in the tech support subforum gave me these threads:

On windows at least a simple restart of Steam and/or your comp helped as well sometimes.

edit: Oops, Groogy'ed. Much better advisor. ;)

I actually assumed he tried to start trough Steam, if you didn't try that at least

Thanks, deleting the user directory helped.
And I always started the game from steam... not sure if there's another way. Definitely don't get that nifty launcher as I used to on Windows. I thought that was because of Steam, actually.

Thanks again!

PS: Sidenote: Second try I gave Steam after a few years ago, I was one of those who said they don't like Steam. So, second try, second time the game I wanted to play didn't "just work", but I had to do a few things to have it work.
Just saying. :)
