Hopefully not. April would probably put us to the point where we are getting Dev Diaries on another new expansion. I shudder to think of the stress level of the team if they just finish updating for HF and then the next expansion is right around the corner.

When did HF drop...early November? April would put us around 5-6 months depending on when in April it would be done.

Something tells me that deck of cards will collapse and we will all be welcoming our HIP overlords.

I thought HF was the last expansion?

Anyways, you're underestimating just how much work has to go into this expansion. Look at the files and you'll see it's almost enough content for an entirely new game. I've been involved with other modding projects like Europa Univ III and it easily took 6 months for release cycles, even though the game files were nowhere near as complex as CKII.

You cant just copy and paste. For example, whenever vanilla adds a new province, the CK2+ team need to hand redraw that part of the map, then add the province to the duchy/kingdom/empire history. That shit is tedious.

Nowhere did I say that it wasn't hard work or tedious so I'm not sure where you are getting that from.

I must have also missed the announcement that this was the last DLC. Can you point me in the direction of a link so I can check that out?

My post was supposed to read as concern for the dev team stress level if they finish in April and another Expansion was announced near the same time. I know if I was a dev I would find it frustrating. Not sure how that was so misconstrued .

We don't really stress expansions too terribly much. Our compatch is done when it's done since we're not doing this for a living and don't really have deadlines. Cuts down on a lot of that stress. Also: please don't open new threads for this stuff

Glad to hear it Schwar.

I think the worst case scenario in my mind is the team getting sick of it all and washing their hands of the whole situation. Happy to hear that isn't something you guys talk about.

Either way, like all of us I'm sure, there is a ton of appreciation for what you guys do day in and day out.

HF and, really more to the point, 3.0 were a much, MUCH larger update to CK2 than most expansions tend to be. It's very unlikely that the next expansion will require this level of overhaul in updating the mods, because it's unlikely that it will affect as many aspects of the game.

Wasn't the whole point of kicking the conversation out of the download thread so that someone would open a new thread and then people would see that it wasn't up to date without having to wade through pages of bickering or know in advance that it wasn't?

These people will N E V E R see if it's up-to-date. They are too lazy to read a few posts up in the thread they are posting in.
