Something terrible has happened. My stupid dad by mistake has deleted the EU files from the hard drive. However, now I cannot reinstall the game, because it was never properly unistalled. THe computer thinks that the game is still there, so its not even allowing me to install it, while whenever I exericse the uninstall option it gives me the error message. What should i do???? I am so afraid that now I will never be able to play...

OK

This worked for me. I'm not sure if the version of Windows matters.

Press the Start button and choose Run. Key "regedit". Now, look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Expand that and look for "Paradox". Expand that and look for "Europa Universalis". Right click on that, then Delete.

You should now be able to resinstall. You will need to reinstall (download if necessary) Paradox patches.

Another methode would be to try and install the game in a different folder than the one you did originally. This happened to me with another game where I couldn't reinstall it because of a similar situation. I simply created a different folder and installed the game there. I'm not sure if it will work with EU, but it's another way to try and work around the problem if State Machines way does not work.

There is a thread in this forum entitled "reinstalling EU" that explains all.

So there is! That's the problem with sticky's that don't get any posts - they become invisible (too lazy louts like myself).
