sound fx problems.....

bought EU2 a couple of days ago....but the sound fx only works the first time i click or make an action.....?

sound problems

When selecting my armies, provinces, navies etc. the sound only plays the first time I select after starting the game. This is a big problem since I'm not able to hear when new armies are built and so on. The problem is the same for all sounds, they play the first time and then disappear... I play the 1.02

I have a similar problem, but in my games the sound seems to be a little “random”. Sometimes I get a sound when building is complete, but ever so often I just don’t. Reasons to this anyone?

Under settings, configuration, multimedia, audio, advanced... there is a slider "hardware acceleration". Normally it is full. Put it to none and your problems will disappear.

Check #17.

17. Try to lower the sound accelaration in Control Panel, Multimedia (or Sounds&Multimedia), Audio, Advanced (on Sound Playback), Performance, Hardware accelaration set to "none". If the sound is "bumby", reduce the quality to "good". Make sure the correct device is selected if you have more than one and check the box "Use only preferred devices".

#17 didn't do it, however a #1, a #3 and then a trailing #7 worked like a charm.
