The sound in my game just stops working. I just get the first sounds. The first time I make a taxcolector. The first time I make a Chief judge. The first time I make a bigger fortress. The first time I make a Manufactory. ect ect. The second time nothing. Same with movements of the army and the navy.

Well I read the thread. I did that all but it still doesn't run.
My system is:
The Benelux version. I guess the latest patch was already installed.
Windows 98 SE
Pentium 3 450MHz
128 MB Ram
5.16 GB still available on the harddrive.
Voodoo 3 2000 videocard
Soundblaster PCI128 soundcard
Creative 36x cd-rom.
So I really hope someone can help me. 'Cause playing without the sound is a real drag.

I was telling you to read #17:

17. Try to lower the sound accelaration in Control Panel, Multimedia (or Sounds&Multimedia), Audio, Advanced (on Sound Playback), Performance, Hardware accelaration set to "none" (or to the second step to the left). If the sound is "bumby", reduce the quality to "good". Make sure the correct device is selected if you have more than one and check the box "Use only preferred devices".

Simpler way is to launch DXDiag (Start Menu, Run) go to the sound tab and reduce the acceleration from there.

That + a driver upgrade is what fixes the problem usually.

Great!!! Thanks that worked out OK. I am glad that I can hear all the things now because sometimes you miss something. Thanks again!!!!:) :) :D :D :D
