Just a little stuff for when you get back.

1) Something like that. The event should only trigger if Kentucky (Louisville), Missouri (St. Louis) or both are in the CSA. It would mention the Louisville Grays and St. Louis Brown Stockings as charter members of the National League and have some modifier for improving relations with the USA.

2) How about some modification of POPs for a little more historical accuracy such as a Creole minority in New Orleans and French-Canadian (for lack of Cajun as a separate culture) as a sizable minority in Alexandria?

Hope the surgery went well.

I'll certainly think about 1), but 2) is a little hard to pull off given the rapaciousness of the Ricky assimilation engine. For all the work it would take to add them, they might last a month in actual game time.

And thanks!

CSABadass, I don't know how much information you have on the Reb navy, but as I was doing some research I came across this site and immediately thought of you and your mod. :p

It seems like it has quite a bit of detail, so I thought you might want to go take a look-see at it. :D

Thank you very much for the link, Thorgrimm, and if you've missed my outpourings of gratitude elsewhere, thanks for the canned food requirement for soldier POP conversion idea--absolutely brilliant!

You are quite welcome my friend. I am always glad to help modders when I can. :) I am glad the Canned Food idea was helpful for you. It took me a while to come up with it. :p But the funny thing was all it took was for me to remember one axiom of warfare, "Amateurs study tactics, while Professionals study logistics." :D

Again, brilliant.

More modders should study Thorgrimm.

I'm fiddling around with some events based on The Guns of the South, but with the book ending in 1868, I don't think it's enough base for a separate mod. Would you consider including the chain as an optional add-on for S:R?

Myself, no, but you're welcome to borrow from SR yourself so long as all such appropriations are duly credited.

about this Mod I was thinking of using some of the history behind this mod for a little Alternate history thread I'm startiing on the site twcenter.net uf thats all right note it combines it with some of Harry Turtledoves work thats perfect all right ? :)

Sure! Long as SR and myself are duly credited.

Best on your endeavor!

After several games, and 'winning' the US civil war as the CSA...why is the CSA so...crippled? I mean, really. They industrialize almost as slowly as an unciv(though, my current game has Capitalist going crazy...) and I had -6- "Political Assassination" events...within 2 months! Honestly now, I don't see the CSA being able to go one on one with the Jerries, or single-handedly beat the British, but can't the population settle down!?

Oh, and..I've got something of an offer for you:

The CSA is severely lacking on events that make it a player on the American continents. I've been thinking...with another slave-owning power, Brazil might be very...friendly towards the South. Perhaps even to the point of mutual protection. And, IIRC, there are several events that fire for Britain, France, Russia, Austria and Italy when Germany forms. To befriend, to outright ally, to go to war with, ect...

Perhaps the CSA ought to have a similar event chain, only, for itself? Not in regards to Germany, but instead, the world powers get to "Cast their judgment" on this new American power. If you like the idea, I'll make a few events and perhaps you could include them into the next release?

I don't why the South is industrializing so slowly in your game. By no means am I a Ricky master, and I've never finished worse than 7th in world industry myself. Ditto the random assassination events. No insult intended, but perhaps checking out a few general Ricky strategy guides might help.

I'll take the CSA-Brazil idea under advisement, as it does seem they should be more well disposed towards each other. I'll see what I can do once I'm done with the massive CA overhaul I'm working on.

As for the others, France and Britain are already in the South's corner, and the others you mention were historically very pro-North. There's no scriptable reason they'd ever take the South's side.

Thanks for the post!
