I really like your WWI events. Is your modification compatible with the newest VIP version?

Thank you!

No, the mods are not compatible.

Thats really sad, because I like your mod very much, of course also the CSA-features.

Thanks for the fast reply.

If you enjoy SR as is, it's served its purpose, with no call for sadness. VIP and SR don't need to combine (and to a degree, they can never) for each to be fun on their own.

Random thought: if the US manages to conquer Canada and/or Mexico before the War, then those revolt also when the South secedes?

Thats quite a good idea, IMHO...it might actually make a sucessful CS secession a more realistic posibility...especially for an AI CSA. Imagine that, the US trying to deal with such a large rebellion...hee hee.

Perhaps someone more qualified would care to wade in...do you think the conquered mexican provinces would join the CS secession or rebel independantly? And if independant, what kind of government would form?

Id love to see a CS superstate slog it out with the USA...what a rumble! :D

I think VIP already has that. Interesting idea, but I don't really have time for modding outside the 1861 scenario. Well, not without getting divorced and fired at any rate.;)

Thanks for the post, though!

Hi ya'll. Although I'm not American (not yet anyway) I was, ever since my geeky book-reading childhood in the 80's, fascinated with US history in general and the War of Northern Aggression in particular. I've been playing Vicky/Ricky for years, a little less so since getting married mind you
This mod therefore comes in handy. CSABadass - this is one great creation which gave me wonderful time at the computer these past few days! Thank you very much good Sir.

I started playing the mod a few days ago and got beaten a few dozen or so times before the Union finally faltered :D
To everyone having trouble winning the war - the strategy guides mentioned throughout the thread (in the past three days I read through all of it  ) are a good guideline but you need some skill and experience nevertheless...just keep trying.

Now I'm in 1879 (all border States and all :D ) and I noticed one minor mistake in the scripting.
I came upon the Virginius incident and declared war. I proceeded to occupy the Spanish West Indies (Cuba and Puerto Rico) and event 146091 was fired. Action_a = "Demand Spain release Cuba & Puerto Rico" seceeds named provinces/state to the CSA but also removes cores in the Phillipines. This got me confused since I didn't remember gaining any cores on the Phillipines at all. So I reloaded and checked for Phillipine cores, but to no avail. While going through the scripting I didn't notice any addcore event for the CSA to lay claims on the Phillipines. So I'm suggesting, in the next version, the removecore command should be removed. It can't really be called a mistake and it doesn't cause any trouble in-game, just some confusion.

Thank you for the brilliant mod.

^What a great post--Thank you very much for all the kind words! Just what I need to get me through my next two weeks on crutches.

The commands you mention need to stay because that event can also be triggered by the later Hispano-Confederate War events, and are necessary to resolve that conflict. In your case, the commands do nothing and are harmless. Still, I do apologize for the confusion.

Thanks for playing SR!
