Just a quick question. Been thinking about picking this up because it looks neat, but I am wondering if any of the other majors are going to be added or if we have heard word on it?
Germans and Americans only seems a bit limited to me, but if the rest are maybe getting added in the future I would be much more certain in picking this up :)

You have a really great diversity in the divisions already.
When you play the game you don't think in terms of nations anymore but individual Divisions.

That said in alliey you already have Americans, Brits/Scottish, Canadians, French and Polish.
Axis only has a few units like Italian Volunteers, some french and Czech tanks and eastern European Osttruppen. Buy the game its great :)

As for the question you asked we probably get the answer to that when they announce Expansions and a successor game (eastern front/italy/africa?) but I don''t expect any info on that earlier.

Its called normandy 44, maybe those come in future games of a Steel Division series, but I think dlcs for N44 just will give us more normandy division and maybe the ardennen or Market garden and maybe maybe Italy.

I don't like to assume based on names alone. Europa can be played outside of Europe, CK can be played without ever being a crusader or a king, Red Orchestra has Pacific War maps, and so on and so forth. That's why I asked.

Thank you :) Every YouTube video I have watched has just used Germans and Americans. But most seem to be when the game was still in Beta, so I didn't know what was all included.
That is very helpful, thank you!

Still, I don't think putting in the Soviets or Japanese would be too terrible of an addition, especially if they are races just for skirmish

rising storm is a new game just like Steel division: el Alamein or Steel Division: Stalingrad would be. Global Strategie games are another thing. They need catchy names. Also, how would you like to balance playing 1944 weapons against 1941-42 african tanks. i think the British player would not have much fun playing crusader tanks against KTs. no no for SD44 you just can pick other 44 or at least late 43 scenarios. This game is not as arcadey as a CoH2 you can not kill a king tiger by shooting down his life bar.

This game focuses on Normandy 1944.

DLC may add to that.

Expansions or sequels will likely be in other regions involving divisions from those conflicts.

This game as it is now. Will not.

I hope they won't add Soviet or Japanese troops as DLC.

The thought of Germans and Japanese fighting Soviet and American troops in the ruins of St. Mère-Eglise makes me shudder and vomit.

So, if they do the ability to deploy certain divisions should be limited to at least some historical background.

Say no to Tojos Normandy-Korps.

an Yang Kyoungjong SKIN for a Osttruppen battalion as ace would be great though. The legendary man who fight for 3 armies.

theres no CzechoSLOVAK tank, theres only that 40 or 47mm CzechoSLOVAK cannon. I would like to see CzechoSLOVAK pilots in RAF or something like that, but CzechoSLOVAK never formed division on allied front. They formed tank battalion and infantry division on eastern front.

Was glad to see the Italian volunteers in one of the Axis divisions at least, wasnt expecting them to be added at all. Would love to see more of it, will be waiting for someone to make an Italian division mod.

I think it is likely that we will see them in a future dlc. Island hopping would be pretty slick witch Fletcher class destroyers...

Personally I would like to see the expanding to those nations theatres, however, not in a "everyone can be everywhere" combo, but a more sane system to me ie

You have base game, you get the base divisions, you get access to more divisions via DLC or semi-expansions.

DLC/semi expansion includes for example, early/late africa campaign(believe it or not this campaign went a while with a good deal of changes), this gives people say, 6-8 divisions, however, 2 of these divisions are free and accessable by people with the base game (so 1 per side).

When starting a game you pick the map, points etc as normal however you have a new tab called theatre, where you select which region/timeframe the game is set in.

This then locks the maps and divisions to historically correct locations, meaning you dont have a king tiger tank division fighting people with honeys and crusaders in stalingrad.

Everyone has access to at least 1 free division per side, so the community isnt split in any way and people can play together and get a feel for if they want the dlc or not.

Devs dont have to give everyone multiple skins for multiple map types ie green, desert, snow.

Everyone gets to play a nation they like over time as it grows, everyone is happy, everyone is 1 community.

I can see a Japanese deck now. Nothing but a endless supply of infantry and crappy tanks that have the armor value of a halftrack.
Unlike Hollywood is trying to make you believe, the Pacific ETO was not restricted to US Marines hoping from one island to the other. ;)
In March-July 1944, the battle of Imphal in Burma saw the engagement of brigade-size armored formations on the Commonwealth side and regiment-size on the Japanese one. Plus Japanese infantry divisions had their own tankette companies.

And soon they'll be speaking English ... :)
