AoW in space right? AoW has halflings.
This leads naturally, as the next step to space halflings. If AoW world in its future sent a colonial mission to another world, it would have to include halflings.

Halflings are small and light, it makes sense for them to be included in colony ships as you could fit more of them per rocket.
Halflings are wonderful and imagine them in lil' environmental suits and with lil' laser rifles.
Everybody loves Halflings and people who say they don't are only lying to themselves.

Goblins are also small and would fit into rockets but halflings are better.
Did Goblins get a whole AoW3 DLC devoted to them? No, and Halflings did
because Halflings are better.

AoW: Planetfall should have Space Halflings.

What i love most about halflings is that you can commit genocide on them

There is a race which the devs havent decided on a name, and which we know basically nothing about. It could be halflings for all i know, but i would be surprised.

That's a pretty solid argument right there.

will they have a sherrrif with the pipe unity thou?

Cant wait to purge all space Halflings with my space dark elf empire.
The Storm Cult will cleanse the universe of life!

Space halflings will cut your high ambitions short.

Nonsense. Halflings would never voluntarily get on colony ships.
Much too austere of an environment for their liking. Unless the colony ship doubles as a luxury cruise ship, they'd definitely stay on Athla.

Goblins are a much better choice for colonisation. No luxuries needed on the ship. Sanitation systems optional.

The Goblins didn't get a whole DLC devoted to them because they were good enough to included in the base game :D

Well goblins would have a pretty good start on physics if they let karaghs build the rockets and do all the science. And at some early 90% chance of rockets exploding on take off and a whole 1% chance of going into space no doubt looks like fantastically great chances for a spaceprogram from a goblin point of view.

Actually this one depends. Do you expect that rocket to land, or rather kaboom! in enemy arsenal? In second case goblins seems like better choice.

But you are skipping a pretty important point here! During the heyday of the star union they certainly had luxury cruise ships and guess who is the obvious choice to run them and be the best customer of those ships? You got it Halflings! Needless to say that a luxury cruiser with several compartments filled with food and drinks is a great asset to have when it comes to surviving hard times.

More reasons for Halflings:
- Which of the races of Athla would have stashes and secret shelters with food, water, beer, wine, candy and feather beds just in case lunch might be late? Well I guess a cataclysmic shatter of the Star Union could eventually lead to a late dinner even for a Halfling, but probably not before all other races have already starved to death.
- Who of all races in Athla would you expect to be lucky enough to survive?
So Space Halflings it must be.
But honestly I think the races we get are fairly different from any races in Athla (with the exception of humans/vanguard) and the amazons-> elf, Dvar-> Dwarf, Kier'ko-> Goblin analogys are somewhat far fetched. But I guess future will tell. Now if the future could just come a bit quicker -_-

psst if anyone remembers AOW1, with its Highman ending... im pretty sure this game reflects that.
Humans were left on Athas alone (planetfall may well BE athas!), meanwhile the other races vanished. The protagonist assumes (maybe) that the other races had been murdered. Perhaps they were just sent to planets of their own.

Humans made their starfederation, invited the other races they found and the rest is history.

So yeah.. much discovery for the exploring races like elves finding the ruins of the old elven court... and so on.

im pretty sure it was a preserver victory into part 2 and after that merlin and his tasks.. including shadow demons... that prevailed. In part 3 i understand the shadowborn (werlac as ally) frostling win is the canon one.

And why not, few things are as consistently favored as lifestealing by players :D
