The general forum is unusable due to spammers, any time I open it there's tons of spam, often many pages. Reporting them doesn't make a difference, as new ones keep coming in constantly. Is something being done to fix the problem? Like make creating an account a bit more difficult with captcha or email verification or something. By doing that you could also get rid of the spam filter that annoys legitimate new users but apparently does not prevent spam.

We are aware of the situation. The Mods are working very hard to combat the spam, but bots never sleep.
Spam is a constant war, we improve our defenses and the world has peace, right up until the spammers make a technical breakthrough. Then it is chaos until we can counter it.
Believe me when I say everything you could think of we have tried or thought of. I realize it may have been some time since you created your account but I assure you the precautions you mentioned are in place but have not been sufficient probably since before you were a member. We do have something we are working on, and it should be configured very soon, we have high hopes it will be effective. I understand your frustration, but believe me that we also feel that way and are doing all we can.

"Paradox General Discussion" should be renamed to "Spammer Honey Trap" as almost every time I look at it it is full of spam posted 1-5 minutes ago.
