I played as Spain.
I attacked Grenada and Navarre. Annexed them.
Started an colonial empire very grand. Most of america in my control.
And then i spent most of my cash to improve forts and make good allies. Royal Marriages all over the continent. All liked me.
Then France decleared war. I Attacked with all i could. I seized 1 province connected with spanish netherlands. And then enough provinces to connect Frenche-Comte to Mainland Spain.
Then i got an opertunity to annex Naples. And so i did.
and Parma decleared war (with alliance of Genua. I attacked with forces. Annexed parma and Genua. France and their alliance Savoja decleared war. I attacked Savoja from Behind.
I hold France off. And attack savoja. The Reformation begins. All my alliances are canselled.
Then 6 decleration of war is made at me. Hanover,Austria,Hungaru,Venice,Phalz, Every border nation to france. I AM IN BIG TROUBLE: I BHOUGHT venice away with 250k. But the entire Spanish Netherlands is under seige by troops like 60k.
I am still waging war in France.
WHY this sudden hostility ?

You did all this by the reformation ... 1517? I'd say your BB rating is through the roof.

Ditto. Think about what you've done there. That's a lot of annexing and victories, real fast. Bound to make the neighbors nervous. You didn't do anything "wrong" (at least, in game terms) -- you merely reap what you sow.

Thi is strange ...

The Religious event i ment was in end of 1500 in my game...
Well maby it was 1518 but they did not change religion untill the end. BUT all Nation sbordering me except France. Loved me.

Yes, I would check the BB rating. If it's above 15 then that could account for the attacks; you annexed a number of small countries. Best to get money from some of the smaller countries when you beat them, rather than annex them.

But another reason countries attack is that they think you are vulnerable (especially if you are fighting a major war and not doing well). Spain is definitely vulnerable in Europe, with territories spread all over Western Europe and the Mediteranean.

Annexing makes you even more vulnerable to attack. As France, you can fight five wars in ten years and annex a dozen provinces, and still be left alone. Spain can't do that, I think.

It's also important who your allies are. When I play Spain, I try to ally with Austria as soon as possible (like on the first day). With two or more great powers in an alliance, the other countries aren't so quick to attack.

where

where do i find the bb rating ?

Your Bad Boy rating has to be pretty high. In my first GC as Spain I annexed Grenada, the Iroquois, Aztec and Inca by about 1530 or so. That coupled with a couple skirmishes with France and Portugal and Algiers gave me a Bad Boy rating of 35 (I learned later) Ouch !

After a couple of years of peace the Army was bored so I sent them on a field trip to Egypt, Big mistake. No sooner has the army attacked the Mameluks (sp) then the house comes down on me. I'm attacked by 4 alliances in 8 months that included Portugal, France, Helvetica, Navara, Algiers, Morocco, The Palitant, Kleves Hessen and at least 3 other German states that I can't recall. Also at this time Dutch rebels appear in 4 provinces. My army in the north is about 50K/10K/50 and I'm attacked by 250K plus of troops. The rebels were holding out better than I was against the invaders. I managed to gain a Provence from Portugal and fought to a draw with everyone else, but lost 3 provinces to the newly formed Dutch Nation.

I've learned a couple of things

1) destroying heathen barbarians doesn't earn you any accolades from the civilized world. Annexation is Annexation and people don't like it. Don't Be the baddest on the block, be the second baddest.

2) Don't mess around in North Africa unless you need it as part of a strategy; The attrition is too high. holding Orrania was a huge pain in my side. Having 20k Algerian armies appear in Spain while I'm in a war against the rest of Western Europe is annoying.

3) If you can take a few provinces away from France (I'd taken 4) in defensive wars they become quite week. Don't overestimate France. On the other hand don't underestimate those pesky little German states. Just because you are being attacked by 5 one-province states that your king has never heard of, doesn't mean you're invulnerable. They have large armies for their size and can cause the death of a thousand mosquito bites.

Open the savegame with worpad or any other text editor. Then search for badboy. And when you see SPA above, then it's your bb rating.
