there's a bug that prevented it from being added to the sandbox.

What do you mean in particular? There are a number of "tracking" journal entries tied to the Great Game objective, and the main one gives a temporary prestige boost or penalty on completion. But all of the actual content is not tied to the objective and available during in other objectives, including sandbox.

So, I remember that the 'Great Game' scenario is different from other scenarios in that only the recommended countries can play,
and 'selecting the country you want' is blocked. (I don't know if this is the correct English expression. I mean, like selecting a country in Sandbox.)

I was asking if anyone knew if this will be fixed in the next patch.

This is intended, what are you expecting them to fix?

Yeah this isn't a bug sorry. They said in the Dev Diary for the content that it was only available to the selected nations in objective selection.

Ah yeah, the tracking journals don't mean anything to the AI, so there's no reason to have them set up. And again all the actual content is still there in other objectives, so nothing of substance is lost.

The journals don't, but the scenario itself does add AI diplomacy weights for at least Russia and UK, making them dislike each other.

Also, it's easy enough to change for oneself so that the Great Game objective can be selected with any country.

Go to the file common/objectives/01_player_objectives.txt and remove or comment out the line available_for_all_countries = no from the objective_great_game block.
