Specialists losing specialties?

I seem to be having a problem with specialists losing their specialties. For example biologists turning into no specialization.

Am I missing something? Is this "working as intended"?

Are you sure it's not people changing house and services in and out your dome?

I had only one dome and 1 residence and only my original 12 founders made up of 4 botanists 2 scientists 2 Engineers and the rest were not specialized. later I only had 1 botonist and 1 engineer remaining. That was before I added more residences, domes or colonists.
