Hello,
I defeated bandits in the corner section of the world which then brought up a factory once they were defeated. That has then trapped my 4 specialists in the corner unable to move.
Is there a way to fix this?

If you try and move them it just says can't do that.

Best thing I can think of is if you save frequently then reload a save. I usually don't step on spots I've done looted so I don't know if it'll let you? Have you tried every little nook and cranny? I know this more than likely isn't helping. I would at least like an update to what you do. Usually doesn't take long for one of the devs to pop in and see what's up. Good luck! Again, sorry if I wasn't any help. Wanted to at least try!

Sadly no way to fix this sort of an issue - we have been working hard on creating fail-safes that should prevent this issue from occurring but in some cases the World Map generation is simply so random that it allows for this to happen besides all of our efforts.

Thanks for attaching the save here - I'll make sure our team checks out the generation from your save so that we can try and block this from happening in the future!
 
Hi,

I had the same issue, I sent my specialists fight here and when they were done with the fight, they got stuck.
Fortunately the autosave done 2 minutes before allowed be to retreat all my specialists, which they successfully did, so it looks like they actually can find a way in and out unless the camp has been cleared.

If this cannot be patched, it would be nice to have a backup solution to prevent having specialists indefinitely stuck on the map, I was fortunate enough that the autosave was made just before the bug, but if it were not, I would have lost 3 specialists spots forever.

For example, a way to "free" a specialist slot (even from the world map) would be a nice feature and would prevent any slot from being definitely occupied by a locked specialist. This could be presented in-game as a way to "evict" the specialist from the colony or something like that.

Hey all!

An update on this issue - after working hard, we have implemented even more systems to the game which should prevent similar issues from happening in the future. While this won't fix the existing saves with this issue, it should prevent them from happening again in new saves. The fix for this should be implemented in the next patch coming soon!
 
Hello, I know this is old but I'm still having same issue on xbox. My specialist cant leave the colony on the world map. Is there anything I need to add like screenshots or something? I mean, honestly, it would just be a shot of three confused dudes standing in the middle of a field looking rough and ready to stab and thrust...it's not as hot as I make it sound unfortunately but let me know if you wnat the pic :)
 
I love this game, But one of my specialist somehow ended up in "no mans land" and I have no idea how he got there. I can't get him out.

Apologies for the bump of this... However.... I have just discovered this game (11/2023) and have encountered the same issue with a specialist getting stuck very early on in my game.

I just thought I'd make a suggestion to the devs (in case they are still monitoring/updating this game, or indeed as a potential "fix" for future versions).
How about just implement a "return immediatly to colony" feature. It could disable the specialist for however many game days it would take to return normally, but then just reset the specialist to the colony after the elapsed period.

It is a shame that this issue persists though, as the game seems quite enjoyable.

The game has improved significantly since the first time I had this issue. I've played several maps and just started a new game yesterday. I have only had this issue one other time since my original post. If I'm being honest, it's not enough of an issue to ruin it for me. I'm hoping they have another DLC soon. I like your suggestion for a fix. I hope they can implement that.

Have y'all just considered... adding a mechanic for a reset for a specialist? Like, give them a day or two penalty to move directly to someplace nearby if there's an issue? A button to reset their state would go a long way. I mean, even "retire" a specialist in the field where you can let them go, or return to the colony for the total distance even if "they can't go there".

It's a pretty high penalty to try and avoid having someone stuck at the end of the map towards the end of the game. It keeps happening.

Edit: It's getting to the point that I'm having to reset every couple of days to keep several particular specialists from bugging out. Getting to be gamebreaking.

I have hundreds of hours in this game and encountered this issue for the very first time in the past half hour (specialists getting stuck after scavenging the purple locations). My workaround is to do a manual save over the autosave file and exit to menu right after and to reload that save. It's annoying, but works
