Hey everybody! You've probably noticed a quick download if you play on Steam! We got a new hotfix done and it is live NOW on Steam and rolling out shortly on Plaza and GOG (might even already be live as I write this)! Not a lot but here are the changes:
- Fixed an issue where sometimes after Dust Storms, rockets won't be able to launch from Mars
- Fixed an issue with some buildings not getting any workers

unfortunetly the rockets still do not start :( the problem is also not only there at sandstorms .... i have ste problem also, if there werent any sanstorm between landing and launching or trying to launch ...

This 'hotfix' doesn't fix the rocket issue. I still have two rockets stuck on the planet. I'm playing on a map without sandstorms, so these didn't cause the rockets to be stuck.

I didn't look into the issue that no-one wants to work in science buildings. The rocket issue is game breaking anyway, so why bother.

If these issues aren't fixed in the next 24 hours, I will demand a full refund.

Updates and patches not being compatible with saved games isn't a new phenomenon, certainly not with PDX published games. Unfortunately in this case the devs didn't actually say that, when clearly they should. If new games are also broken then feel free to seek a refund. However, I'd recommend hanging around. I'm sure everything will be working soon.

My main issues have reflected what a lot of people have said about the staffing of certain buildings and spires, which has now been solved, and the launching of rockets, which hasn't, but can be worked around by toggling auto-launch.

For those who still get the rocket landing blue light hexagon after a rocket has left - this can be selected and disappears when toggling off the auto launch.

Some people have said that saved games are broken, I may be wrong bit surely loading a saved game after subsequent fixes should be in the state that their first saved in, then run the code of game plus that of the hotfixes and so then be fine? The introduction of a buggy patch doesn't overwrite or corrupt a save file.

Less of a bug and more of a balance issue - since the Spirit patch I'm being eaten out of house and home, diners and grocers can't be replenished with food cubes fast enough so my colonists run outside to have unprepared food then suffer the sanity penalty for it. Also my fair stock of food has been diminishing after being nicely balanced. This isn't a surprise as the patch notes said they'd eat more, but the consequence is that I need several farms per dome, limiting space for other services and limiting the viable population per dome. I don't know what the figured are but of consumption has gone from 0.2 food per sol to 0.3 per sol, then maybe 0.25 would be a more balanced compromise (assuming the game can work to a second decimal).

Thanks by the way for issuing the hotfix so quick before the weekend. I'm confident that after a few teething problems the game will get there.
