Splitting a retreating stack will make new army to stop and you win the province and becomes defender

This explain this enoying thing when AI retreat it suddenly jump up from nowhere and take prov back. I have allways wonder how they did that! It is cheating and using this trick

Out of curiosity, are bugs like this going to be addressed? Official acknowledgement of them seems to have pretty well disappeared.

Really you should not be able to split retreating stacks, nor disband them or otherwise manipulate them.

And I thank you for it ;)

The "what" to be fixed is easy. There are two things which are certainly bugs:

1) When you split a retreating stack, the newly created unit STOPS retreating, reclaims possession of the province it was retreating from, and engages in combat with any enemy forces there.

This is clearly a nasty bug, allowing all kinds of exploits (for example since the newly created unit takes back the province it was retreating from, all enemy aircraft which were based there are destroyed. Ouch.).

2) Retreating units can be disbanded, which means that if I know my retreating units are going to be encircled and destroyed, I can disband them as they retreat, getting all my manpower back.

This is a lesser bug but still one that should be fixed.

I hope this clarifies the issue for anyone in the Beta forums!
