It would be cool if, when the spouse of the player inherits land independent to the player's land, the leading party in the marriage (the husband, unless it's matrilineal) can either force the other spouse to surrender the titles to him/her or give him all their titles. This is similar to what really happened in medieval Europe, and goes along with the Stark fears of Sansa inheriting Winterfell, and thus giving it to Lannister control.

Forcing a spouse to abdicate to you or their child would be unpopular among the lords of the region and have a -30 penalty for the spouse, but is much like what actually happened. Maybe there could be events for spouses to willingly surrender lands to the leading party? Or perhaps lower-level spouses would be willing to become a vassal?

Ideally, that should be possible through a plot. You would invite the courtiers and some of the vassals to the plot, and when enough of them support you, you "take over" from your spouse.

Goes for the base game as much as for the GOT mod.

Ok, I agree, with the idea, but this is like the 4th thread on this topic in two months. Most have the same name, as well.

There is already a submod in progress that contains Jure Uxoris (where a husband usurps his wife) on the citadel forums. I *think* this may include widow inheritance as well (such as what happened with Lady Whent and Lady Hornwood).
