Simple question... I know from the manual that the spouses of my character add their stats to that of my character. Fair enough, but it doesn't seem to be very straightforward. I assumed that basically, the best stats of the four (or less) spouses would count for the bonus... so if I have a spouse with a high diplomacy skill, I'd get a bonus from only her.

This doesn't seem to be the case... in fact, marrying a spouse with poor stats actually seems to -lower- the bonuses I get, basically negating what the others provide.

Could someone clarify how this works exactly, what kind of women I should look to marry?
