ok so I bought this game which I thought would be amazing untill i saw that paradox even with the vvpatch 2.whatever still jams up and freezes or worse thoughs me completly out of it! man in this day and age! don't sell the product if it ain't finalised! and no! i dont want to go in whatever file to edit this or that line ...just do your jobs and finish the programing, I can't play in peace this too has become a chore thanx!

If you want us to help you, we'll need some information. If you just want to rant, please don't do it here - this forum is for people who want help.

Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista/Win7 and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista/win7 to a non-system directory, like c:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis - Rome\, where [name] is your Vista/Win7 user name. You may have to search your C: drive for them.

ok so i need help, but i dont understand computer lingo nor do i wish to go tampering in the progrming for "fear" of damaging my computer, now it won't even start, i've tried installing and re-installing also repairing; but it tells me i,m missing rome game cd 1, bah i'm going to bed ..just wanted to get magna greacia in before deadline but can't even use the game anymore.

I wasn't asking you to tamper with anything, just some informational files. Now you will have to do things though, having tried to uninstall. Where do you have the game from - is it a boxed version, or downloaded from GamersGate, Steam, Impulse or where?

First move any valued save games elsewhere. Then uninstall the game, and then manually delete the game directory - this is important. Reinstall Rome Gold - choose a new directory like c:\games\rome instead of the suggested path. Then apply the 2.32 patch over Rome Gold (unless you have a downloaded version that comes down pre-patched, like Steam).
