SPQR 0.3_13 for the Improved Map 1.2 beta for Patch 1.3

edit: hotfix to SPQR 0v313a for RIMP: download
NOTE: this hotfix is NOT savegame-compatible to any older installations.
Please read the readme_hotfix instructions inside of the the package before installing!

This download incorporates the latest beta release of the Improved Map Project with the 0.3_13 release of the SPQR mod - seamlessly integrated.

Also included:
- the well known SPQR 0v3 (for release notes see http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...ad.php?t=362254)
- small bugfixes (province seceding, inventions)
- 15 roman, 10 egypt, 10 greek (5 seleucid & 5 macedonian) and 5 carthagian women and girls (modified version of Families-Mod by The Land)
- playable in english and german language (including Deutsch-Mod v1.0)
- all necessary adaptions to patch 1.3 i found

You will note that neither RIMP nor SPQR is finished yet. However this package is stable, enjoyable, and a vast improvement on the vanilla game in so many ways.

Please follow the (very brief) installation instructions included in the readme file of the download!

And please use this thread for any comments.

Can you please tell us whether or not the "improved map project" files have been adjusted to the patch (i am referring to the new trade goods)?

i have only added wildgame and papyrus to the provinces the patch changed (mostly by removing grain) - not realy a lot of them.
the provinces of new countries in britain where not overworked by rimp, so i added it only.
a small overwork was necessary in inventions and ideas for integrating the rimp-cultures (libyan, mesopotamian) and -religions (berber and babylonian) to this system.
and a bugfix with garamantea revolt: i think in common/countries.txt was it defined as GA2, but GA3 is the right name.

i´m not sure, but i think, the rest of adaptions i made for the spqr-part of this combi-mod.

Hi, I have downloaded the mod, and the terrain mapmode is not working correctly. Here is a screenshot, as you can see, every province is blue.

my.php

Is there something I can do to make it work?

yep, you can. i was sure, that somebody will notice this. ;)
but its not a big problem, ´cause there is a fixing descripted in the original RIMP-thread.

the "blue-textures"-problem results from not succesfull created new textures by your computer. to fix this, download the correct content of the ...map/province_textures/ folder fom veritas cache files:

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8773942&postcount=273

and paste that into this folder. your pc will now not try to create the textures and will use these working files instead.

if you are using vista and there are problems after the procedure below, try these steps, too:

Getting CTD on save game with this mod

I loaded this mod and tried to play it, but about 25% of the time I crash ot of Rome completely on either aotosave or manual save. I am running version 1.3 (upgrade from 1.0), and no other mods.

please try the hotfix i have added in the starting post.

there where two major bugs inside the original 0v313-version:
- the RIMP-characters for Argos use the same numbers as new added by patch 1.3
- the RIMP-government-event for tyranny use the same id as a new added event by patch 1.3.

these conflicts and some small gameplay-adaptions (changed religionpower in 1.3) are fixed with version 0v313a of this mod. all changes from 0v313 you can find in the hotfix-file in the edited starting post.

sorry for all of the problems with the adapted version of SPQR on RIMP.

Some feedback from my last game (Rome, very hard difficulty):

-Macedonia managed to colonise all the way to Poland. Maybe the barbarians should be made stronger...

-Generally, a very pleasant game. I think both teams (SPQR and Improved Map project) have really done a great job.

Well I'm thinking that macedonia historically didn't colonise because they've just colonised the east, and have plenty of trade with there.

Wheras, ingame carthage undercolonises, and rome is still a little under. So you'd need more then just additional barbarians to get the balance just right.

Gah!

Evidently something in the civ-values or the civ-value spread is not working, because SPQR should be preventing this from happening.

I must say this mod has REALLY improved game play. Thanks TheLand!
The auto governor assign and more women among other improvements is awesome.

My only "wish" is that their could be more and or larger tribal nations. It's painfully slow to expand as rome either North, West or East. The Tribes and Empires mod by Djack has hit on this issue, but I think may have way too many one province tribes instead of fewer larger tribes.

Im just not a big fan of the whole colonization thing.

the hotfix is stable

Thanks for the hotfix. The game plays well with stablity, and is a major improvement on the base version.
