What program does HOI use to build sprites? I'm trying to make some sprites of my own, but all I have is Paint, and the system doesn't recognize anything I do. Also, I have 1.06c and right now, all my level one fighters for USA and Germany are displayed as biplanes. Where can I find the correct sprites and where do I install them to. I tried searching to find this answer, but nothing applicable came up.

I'll move you to the graphics forum where hopefully some people will be able to help you out.

The sprite files are in GFX\map\units. Those are the files containing the information of how to treat the graphical data. The graphics files (windows bitmap format) are in GFX\map\units\bmp.

If you want to make sprites, find the Stony Road site. There is (I hope it's still there...) a great sprite making tutorial by sekinoss there. If you have any doubts, ask. :)

Exel's sprite pack isnt that good. In fact, I don't believe any of the sprites are exceptional. Most are sub par or ok.

Whether its good or bad is irrelevant (though I would say that in general the sprites are better looking than default, obviously a matter of opinion). Most importantly, there is a fix for the display glitch.
