1st ARR, just getting things started and I will be adding pics later.

WIF 1936, plat build.

Jan 1st, 1936
Reich chancellery department of strategic planning, memo Z134, top secret.

Excerpt:

It has been agreed that industrial/infrastructural/economic development must take a secondary position to that of military materiale...
...Nonetheless, upgrading through technological development will be critical for the successe of any future military-industrial complex...
...Several projects are currently underdevelopment for novel weapon systems, but production is still at least one year away...
...OKH has directed the stockpiling of military supplies, while currently units are to be placed under better administration to reduce inefficiencies...
...Luftwaffe expansion critical, yet no currently acceptable prototypes...

My starting out strategy will be a little different for this game
1) all military build from the start, so NO IC expansion
2) Begin 1936 by building only supplies and consumer goods, and trade massively, especially for rares
3) Focus on industrial techs dated 1936/37 in the first year, rush for IC boosters and manpower boosters 38 during late 36/early 37
4) Develop CAS 37/Int 37 in late 36 and begin pumping out CAS and INT runs in early 37 (no unit limitation)
5) Looking ahead, Research up to INF 39 in by mid 38, and do approximately 5-6 runs before the start of the war.

so I haven't updated, partially because I've been busy but also because of diffculty with the game
I have the AI running on unfair.

Anyways, Poland was a breeze
So was france especially with the help of the luftwaffa
but barbarossa is muchos problematic. By the time for Russia I have approximately 40 mobile divisions, 8 medium tank, and 6 or so light armor+the waffen SS (2 mobile+3Mech?) My mobile/armor spear had attack from army group center through ukraine without trouble but epic fails at crossing the Dniper. I am able to pocket russians in the Ukraines, but am unable to cross the river before heavy soviet reserves arrive.

So I've been messing with a slightly new strat of building more engineering brigades to make a more effective armor spearhead.
alternatively I can break the spearhead into two, one attacking from the ukraines and another from the north, meeting the two around smolesk to create a large northern pocket

Right now I'm e in my second play through poised to invade france with approximately 100 divisions (45 mobile/arm), and a fairly large airforce (20 int, 30 CAS, and 13 Tac) and if that turns out well, l'll see how the russians fair.

As an aside, what exactly are the changes done to the engineers in WIF?
I remember they weren't much use in regular HOI2, but has Wif made defensiveness and toughness more important statistics?

anyways, its now June 1941
about 140 German divisions are amassed along the russian border
Allied forces will probably amount to 40 or so division, mostly attacking from Romania

Mobile elements consist of 41 mot inf, 12 Med Arm, and 6 Light Arm + Waffen SS (2 Mot, 3 Mech)
too much?

are there events that Convert 1 and 2 SS divisions to panzergrenadiers or full panzer divisions?
