Stellar Sundays II - Highway to the Hyperlanes
As the first Stellar Sundays campaign ended with everyone remaining agreeing that it was time to start over.
This campaign is expected to take off on the 3rd of July, using either Asimov or an Asimov Beta. It will be a hyperdrive-only campaign with 1000 stars, with up to 24 players and 12 AI. As the name implies, this is a Sunday game.
The game will use the existing ruleset of the Stellaris MP community:
Rules
Membership of the Stellaris MP community is required, if you're not already a member then request me on steam so that I can add you.
VOIP used is the Stellaris MP Discord channel, permanent invite: https://discord.gg/0pRqs0ngiyBAiMc7
Beyond the rules, the following are expected:
- That players have hardware that will now slow down the game for everyone (reason for removal)
- That players will be dedicated to the campaign, show up for sessions, and if unable, find a sub! It is incredibly frustrating for your alliance to lack a vital ally suddenly.
Protection will not be granted unless you announce your absence on the forums at least a day in advance, and there is a honour system here where abuse of this privilege to try and safeguard your faction instead of real life emergencies will not be well received.
Signups
Signups are done by filling out a standard application as seen here (bolded are required information). Edit: Since I've been asked: Players are free to edit their species up until game time, once they've been approved and gain access to the Google Docs roster.
Species selection
As a roster I am making a private google document where I will give editing access to you once you've filled out an acceptable application. Access to the document is given to all existing veterans. A public version of the roster will be shown later as a screenshot and statistics will also be public.
The campaign is capped at 24 players.
Veterans of the Stellar Sundays game who pulled through to the end have reserved spots until the 26th, after which all positions are available. These include:
- Myself
- @sajjed
- @nuke4
- @Lairek
- @Eoino
- @Togee
- @Gamer31133
- @Icendoan
- @Revan1
- @dipwood
Meaning there are only 16 seats available for new players!
New players joining (11/16)

- @NTGuardian
- @Tiaexz
- @Karkinos
- @CynicalLiberal

If the veterans do not apply within a week, or say they do not want to play this new campaign, their seats will no longer be reserved.

Rules
Player Behaviour
- No stupid bullshit.
- Don’t be an asshole to other players and respect the GMs and Mods.
- GMs will refrain from making up rules in the middle of sessions.
- Absent players may be protected from other players pr GM announcement. Players who have given warnings that they will be absent or lose connection in the middle of the session are considered protected, unless otherwise stated by the GM. Players are expected to try and find substitutes for expected absences.
- Show up on time. The game will have hot join, so there will be little leeway given.
- No nation ruining. This includes giving away all your planets to alliance or federation mates and then leaving the game, also including disbanding your fleet and removing your defenses before quitting. Since the receiver has to accept such deals, they are also held accountable.
- The game proceeds at a speed chosen by the GM(s). Players are not allowed to pause the game other than for:
*** War declarations.
*** War goal additions by defender before the time window closes.
*** An absolute crisis (a bad event is, by itself, not a crisis! The start of an end-game crisis? Yes, maybe.)
*** Catching someone breaking rules (take screenshots!)
- Players are not allowed to communicate their location, or that of other players, in the Galaxy. Communicating who your neighbours are is fine. Players with special access to this information (likely the host and GMs) are especially restricted from announcing such information. The GMs may allow the Galaxy map to be revealed by a certain date (such as 2300).
Signup/Faction rules
- We’re here to have fun, but to keep things tolerable for everyone, we won’t accept:
*** A direct copy of a historical or a fictional faction (inspiration, even heavy, is okay).
*** No “The Evil Empire of Evilness”. You don’t have to write epic fantasy, but make up something tolerable.
*** A GM may specifically void this rule for their campaign. This should be made clear in the signup thread.
- We encourage players to have some regard for the type of empire they’re playing so there’s not a complete disconnect, such as the fanatical pacifist xenophile empire being a complete warmonger.
*** If a GM marks a campaign as explicitly 'competitive', this rule is void.
*** If a GM marks a campaign as explicitly 'roleplay(RP)', this rule is not 'encouraged', it is actively enforced.
- GMs have autonomy regarding how they form their rosters, deal with absent/rulebreaking/malicious players and all the settings of their games. However, we strongly encourage GMs to utilize a standard template including Homeworld, FTL, Species, Ethos, Traits, Government and Description. This will help players pick a variety of homeworlds and create a more unique and well-thought out faction.
- At GM discretion, defeated players can be let back into the game, if another faction donates a vassal or there is an available AI/abandoned faction. However, not near the one who defeated them, unless the victor is alright with it.
Warfare
- If a player surrenders to all your war goals, you must accept.
- Players are constrained to war goals that are feasible in-game.
- Acceptance of peace terms must be accepted by either by the target of the claims or a majority of players on either side.
Diplomacy
- No more than 5 player factions may be in an alliance or a federation. If alliances between factions and federations are possible, they count for the number of people inside.
*** For games of 12 players or less, or in order to face a late-game threat or other great non-player enemies, this rule is void. Small game GMs can formulate other limits.
- Players are not allowed to abuse leaving alliances or federations to declare multiple wars against factions as a way to bypass limits on warscore or truces.
Exploits
- Allies are not allowed to break apart and reform alliances at will to abuse influence savings.
