After I export a multi-section ship in game, the shading between sections looks terrible. Singular section ships so far have been fine, but the multi-sectioned ship looks pretty bad. Here are all the files and a few screenshots

The topology for each section is pretty minimalist and as clean as i can get it without tris. Each section is also manifold, so front and back faces, if that has anything to do with the shader.

Your mesh normals are incorrect along the shared edges of each ship section.

It looks like you've just smoothed all the edges of every piece of the ship, you want to select the shared edges in Maya and harden (split) the normals. Otherwise you get this effect where the mesh shading is trying to smoothly wrap around the parts where you sections join each other.

I knocked up a quick Maya example.

Wow thank you a lot, I come from blender so I would normally just make 2 edges, but wasn't sure how in maya. Thanks soooooooooooo much
