So my friend and I decided to invest into stellaris as we have been burned out of HOI, EU4, and CK2 for awhile, so this seemed like the next logical step. We have both spent TONS of money on paradox, and especially stellaris both of us buying the base game and multiple dlc. This game is supposed to have a functioning multiplayer, or so we thought... DESYNCING IS CURSED!!! Jes us Christmas , we cant play more than five minutes without it desyncing, and we're like "its fine, it dosen't seem too bad" until my friend can't even click on his fleets and move them, arguably the most vital part of the game. If anyone knows how to fix paradoxs multiplayer for them, please let us know, but it is almost unplayable. It's laughable and insulting to, that as I'm coming to the forum I see the new dlc for stellaris is being released soon... seriously? The game is borderline broken, after I've spend 80 dollars on it, and instead of fixing a feature I paid for, they're going to release a new dlc? Paradox needs to get it together, especially after Imperatur Rome. Here's something for you Paradox, you would get more money, if you freaking fixed your games!!! My friend and I can't even get a refund because we're both past the two hour mark, and now we're stuck with a broken game... this is fantastic. If someone in the community is more competent than them with their own game, please let me know if there are any fixes for this bug. Thank you.

Do you get OOS errors? If so is it just one particular one, or multiple different ones? This tells us if this is likely a game issue or a connection issue.

What you might try is having all your players opt into the stellaris_beta version, now in the Steam Betas tab for this game. That uses the Paradox MP service instead of Steam.

I would like to chime in on this as well. Myself and a couple friends also purchased Stellaris and varying DLCs to play together and are experiencing issues ourselves. We are fairly consistently getting out of sync errors, specifically: "out of sync pop modifiers" Below is a list of info on our game and background info on the 3 of us and our DLCs and I will attach logs from the last time the sync errors occurred.

* Player 1 is the current host (myself) and owns the following DLCs: Apocalypse. Utopia, Horizon Signal, and Synthetic Dawn Story Pack

* Player 2 created the game and passed the hosting to Player 1 after creation and owns the following DLCs: Apocalypse. Utopia, Distant Stars Story Pack, Synthetic Dawn Story Pack,
Leviathans Story Pack, and Humanoids Species Pack.

* Player 3 has all of the available DLCs installed

Our Game:

* Started on Stellaris Version: 2.5.1 (1fd6)
* We are running only official DLCs
* Galaxy Size: 1000 Stars
* AI Empires: 30
* Fallen Empires: 2
* Marauders: 3
* Game Speed: Normal

Host PC Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
RAM: 32GB
Storage: PCI-E SSD
GPU: AMD 5700XT
Network: 400/400 Fiber

What is an OOS error? Also for my game I own the big content dlcs, and I have always been the host, we went from lan to internet? But that shouldn't change anything in an ideal world right? Also we verified our game cache, it was all good. The errors have all been POP_MODIFIERS or RANDOM_MODIFIERS or FLEET_MODIFIERS

Also new glitch, I have a colossus, destroyed a planet, and now whereever I look there is a destroyed planet glitch in the bottom right corner. Also another desync after tryinging the game cache.

OOS == Out Of Sync, just another name for Desyncs. I believe the POP_MODIFIERS, RANDOM_MODIFIERS and FLEET_MODIFIERS are what they were asking for.

My friend and I have sadly stopped playing Stellaris MP completely until the next update (and we've played since 1.0 without issues). Here's to hoping things are fixed with the federations patch...

Clearing Cache (everybody) helps for me

yeah come to expect OOS synch errors, usually fleets or pops, maybe with the new reinforcement system then OOS fleet errors will become less frequent when we dont have + 400 mini fleets running around all the time. As you said clear chache (also removes your races I believe which can be annoying) helps, but also you luckily don't have to restart the game like with EU4 with checksum, so rehosting and having the first month change run on slowest speed also helps stabilize and prevent synch errors. So luckily yeah there are much OOS problems in stellaris but rehost doesn't necessarily take long time unless you play with someone with shitty internet.

It is sad when OOS become so frequent the game become unplayable, on reason why we only play with 2-4 mods.

OOS from RANDOM_COUNT, CONSTRUCTION, POP_MODIFIERS, RANDOM_MODIFIERS and FLEET_MODIFIERS are just a few.

This is still happening to myself and my friends, I can't understand why this hasn't been resolved. If we don't save the game regularly and reload from the prior save the game becomes unplayable. We cannot control ships, pops and economy goes haywire, sometimes we can't even upgrade ships or building slots. We were hoping this would be fixed with the Federations update but it looks to possibly be worse now.
