hi guys,

I want to edit a Portrait mesh from Stellaris.

I glorious failed.

I was looking for several tutorials, but found nothing that fits my knowledge base. I have some experiance with editing 3d models (Warcraft 3, Medieval 2 aka total war in general), but Stellaris mehs seems to be completly different (at least Maya, I totally don't understand how this prgm works. I used milkshape or community based WC3 model Editors, so Maya is totally out of my league.).

What was the main problem? Extracting the mesh. I tried this Google Chrome based Tool, extracted a mesh what was working. But when I opened the mesh, it was just a sphere, I nor see any Skeletons & structures. I think I could learn how to edit a mesh with try&fail if I once have a structer to work with. But some thing was rotten I think, and with just a sphere I really have no plan what to do.

How I Need help?

Any tutorial for dummies without any Maya exp. would be of course the best Thing I can hope for.
1. How to exctract a portrait mesh from Stellaris
2. How to edit it
3. How to Export the modded mesh to Stellaris

Any one can may help me?

Would give my eternal love to you <3

edit: at least I just want to do a very Basic edit: transform vanilla meshs. Not creating a complete new one, not create complete new animations. Just as example pulling the Skeleton some Pixels downward.

Okay, I figured out how to Import a mesh.

I'm now here:

I have a comprehensible Skeleton with a blank texture (material?) on it.
At this Point, I could transform the skeletion. But to test direct how it would look with the textures/animations, the next question:
How I can add/Show the texture (e.g. molluscoid_massive_15_purple_black.dds) to view it right at Maya? And the same with Animation? I've checked out some Maya tutorials and the menues by myself, but I don't get it.
