Ive never posted a discussion before but I chose to place this discussion in General because I believe this is an issue that might not be specific to Stellaris.

I played this game yesterday (Stellaris), played great, I could launch it from Steam or by just opening the Paradox launcher. I bought the Utopia DLC because it was still on sale this morning and installed it. I then tried to open Stellaris from Steam, it did not work, I tried opening Paradox launcher, and the Paradox launcher did open, but Stellaris was not in the launcher. Every time I try to launch Stellaris from Steam I get an Error message saying "Couldn't Start Launcher". Can anyone help me with this issue? I am able to launch Stellaris from the game files, but it doesn't contain any DLC. I tried uninstalling everything (other than steam) then reinstalling everything, which contained the files & shortcuts for Paradox and Stellaris. I noticed that when I reinstalled Stellaris it did not automatically install Paradox launcher like when I first bought the game, and the Error message still shows up. Any help would be appreciated.

When I try to launch stellaris, it says that it is running, then immediately stops running.

Just know that I am very new with computers, Steam and Paradox alike. Im running this on a MacBook Air with an M1 Chip, and MacOS Montery version 12.5.1. Everything has run great before this morning, I heard that the game might get slow during late game on the M1 chip but I still haven't got that far into the game. I don't use this computer soley for gaming but I thought it would be nice to have a few games for when I travel since its a laptop.

Sounds like a launcher issue, most likely you can start the game from stellaris.app run directly from Finder?

Please delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/ folder. To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and paste in ~/Library/Application Support/ . Then run the game from the PLAY Button in Steam, to reinstall the launcher.

If that does not get the launcher running, we will need these files from that same folder:

Attach ALL .log files Found here ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/

Wow, that worked thank you so much. Deleting the ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/ folder worked great. I saw other posts telling people to delete that file, but I couldn't seem to find it. Thank you very much for your explanation as I would not have known what to look for if you had just said "delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/ folder", without the information you gave me I would have been lost. And yes before I was able to launch from Finder but it did not register that I had bought the DLC, but now it launches through Paradox launcher and works fine. Thanks again as my first time on a forum I didn't know what to expect. Hope you have a great weekend bro.
